Mia Carbone presents at the 2026 APHEO-OPHEN Conference!

HOW IMPORTANT IS NEIGHBOURHOOD WALKABILITY?

This May, Mia Carbone presented at the APHEO-OPHEN Conference in Hamilton, Ontario.

Mia presented her abstract, The Impact of Neighbourhood Walkability on Moderate-to-Vigorous Intensity Physical Activity Among Nurses in The Champlain Region of Ontario.

Results showed that walkability was higher in urban areas but did not increase MVPA, suggesting occupational and personal factors may drive nurses’ activity more than the built environment.
